Your thoughts and

opinions, please…  Do I make the quilt “traditional” and square OR do I go round…?!

The purple fabric on the right will be the binding and the quarter is to show scale.

Thanks for your help!!!

This will be a gift for Russell.  I have been thinking about the binding and haven’t decided yet.  Your thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks!  ; )

Preparing Peace

for quilting.  Yesterday I pieced the back and made a hanging sleeve while I was at it.  Today I was able to get Peace sandwiched and pin basted.  I am hopeful I can begin the quilting tomorrow!  : )

Also in preparation, I cleaned and oiled my sewing machine and put in a new needle.  My quilting gloves are at the ready and I wound an extra bobbin too.

Until tomorrow…

P.S. You’ll notice the top right area of the circle is not “perfect” – I made the conscious decision to leave it perfectly imperfect…  I am not a machine and often times to achieve peace there is compromise, no…?  A quilt is powerful and holds many messages!!!  ; )

Pod

Pod Success!!!

Spenser and Trevor in the pods!!!

Brackets/handles to facilitate pod entry and exit were manufactured to meet OSHA standards.  They had to be installed and ready for use by Friday.

So, Russell was here this week…

He also brought components for the mud room.  Interestingly, Scott and I had not considered limiting factors that played into Russell’s design for this space.  First, the components needed to be able to come apart and reassembled on site.  And second, the structural framework had to fit into the back of his truck.  Huh.  Who knew?!

Weather pending, Russell and colleague Dave, will return next week.  To finish the mud room, install the sails and bring the frames for the clothesline.

Then, aside from landscape lighting, which Scott will do, I do believe the studio project will officially be c.o.m.p.l.e.t.e.d…
