Easter weekend and no April Fools…

I finished the Jingle Bear block for Momma Barb (aka Mimi) and borrowed Rocco’s Robot quilt to stitch the label in place!!! ¬†ūüôā ¬†HIP HIP HOPPITY HoOrAy!!!

We had an Egg Hunt in our backyard. And the (traditional?!) vegetarian lasagne yesterday. ¬†Don’t ask. ¬†We just so happen to be a combined family of non-traditionalists and thankfully it works for us! ¬†: )

We hard cooked eggs that didn’t get painted. ¬†Will they yet be colored/decorated and in Egg Fights or no…?! ¬†Their destiny hangs in the balance and I’ll keep you posted.

Cioppino is on tonight’s menu. ¬†YUM! ¬†And, chocolate cake with pb icing. ¬†Double YUM!

I am hoping your Easter weekend was FUN and AWESOME. ¬†Traditional or no, it really doesn’t matter as long as you spent it with those you love and did the ¬†things that are important to you and yours.

Doin’s and goin’s on’s

I DID get the Robot quilt finished in time!!! ¬†I spent 3 hours and 10 minutes of the 3 1/2 hour trip whip stitching binding to the back. ¬†I didn’t get a completed photo though.

Today I finished the label for the back. ¬†; ) ¬†I will stitch it in place when the family comes down for a visit…soon…!

However, Momma Barb’s block was NOT completed and still isn’t, but I’m getting there. ¬†Those little pine trees are buggers!

Last week Scott rented an auger.  We had 11 post holes that needed dug to 36 inches depth.  Doing that by hand (and back) was not possible.  So a GroundHog auger came in right handy.  Next will be gravel and cementing poles/posts into place.  When the weather permits.

Diggity Dig

This past weekend saw a bit of electrical work getting done in the bathrooms. ¬†And, a breaker went bad. ¬†Scott replaced the breaker ¬†and a switch in the master bathroom, and he made/installed a new outlet in the hall bath for Shelby’s automatic cat feeder. ¬†He IS my Mr. Incredible!!! ¬†‚̧

Today it’s a “Wintry” mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain. ¬†Good thing for a BIG pot of chicken soup with kale and homemade noodles!!!

Stay tucked in and take some stitches!

P.S. Did anyone get to the AQS Quilt Show in Lancaster?  How was it?!

Saturday sewing.

Sewing. ¬†Sewing. ¬†Ahhh. ¬†It makes me FEEL good!!! ¬†I knew I missed sewing. ¬†What I didn’t know, was just how much. ¬†It’s bliss to sit and sew. ¬†And, it doesn’t matter…hand applique, tucking in thread ends, stitching at the machine. ¬†Sewing. ¬†Sewing.

Control panel for the Rocco's Robot quilt. Some of those fabrics are from Joan at Primrose Gradations. She passed away four years ago. It's time to sew with those fabrics and make Joan smile!

I CUT hand dyed fabrics today. ¬†Yep. ¬†I sewed with them too. ¬†: ) ¬†They’ve been stitched into Rocco’s Robot quilt. ¬†Joan would be proud and I hope she’s smiling. ¬†; )

Hey, Russell was here on Thursday. ¬†He brought the metal framework that will be used for the outdoor sails and the metal surround for the for the opening from the breezeway into the studio. ¬†‚̧

These pieces are the framework that will be used for "sails" along the side of the studio...they will be used to help guide wind and sun, as well as, offer privacy.

Amazing. It is so unique and unexpected! It is a perfect compliment to the track for the rolling ladder.

We continue to count our blessing and feel gratitude. ¬†This place is “right” for us. ¬†I encourage each one of you to be deeply satisfied with your life or make the changes necessary to find and create your own bliss.
