completion and Robot 5 is done too! ; ) Next will be a shower head, and a control panel for the Robots!?
Enjoy today’s sunshine!
the mix. ; ) This one took a bit of doin’ and re-doin’. The fabric choices have (finally!) been made and Robot 5 is fused…awaiting stitching! This one will be sewn with blue thread.
Vernon’s text said he’ll be here in the morning to “cap” the outdoor shower. The metal cap will be shaped into a spiral and riveted into place. This was the design challenge that intrigued him the most with our entire (metal) project. The weather forecast is rain – 100% chance tomorrow. Not nice enough to work on a roof. Capping a shower…in a shower…?!
Robot 5 fabric selections are underway. This is a FUN project and it makes me smile. : )
It was nice to see and feel the sunshine today. The Point won’t be open much longer and we enjoyed walking it this afternoon. We saw horse trailers and knew to keep our eyes peeled. Seeing horses ON the Beach is cool. We don’t see it very often. When we do, it takes our breath away.
I hope you took a few stitches, went for a walk or perhaps rode your horse this weekend too!
So…sew far this one is my favorite. I had trouble choosing his hands, but am pleased with what I decided on. These guys have been FUN to make and I think they’re cute! ; ) Let’s hope a certain, soon to be THREE!?, year old agrees.
and with his pal, Robot Two…
Robot Three is “off kilter” ’cause there’s one in every crowd and galaxy…
And, Momma Barb’s block is progressing too.
It is AWESOME to have my tools, a space and some time for daily stitching. It feels very wonderful and therapeutic.
Plus, I have been working on Momma Barb’s block too. ; )
It was a cold and blowy Jingle walk at the Beach today. The sun is SHINING though and the days are staying lighter longer. It makes you feel good. Hopeful.
The Typosphere background fabric for the Robot quilt had a chunk taken out of the bottom. When Scott saw it he said, “Oh, that will make a great place to applique a planet!” Since Robot #2 is going at the bottom right of the quilt, I needed to patch that hole today. So…sew, this is how it looked at the beginning.
and, this is how it looks “patched and planet-ed” and with Robo Two fused into position.
Oh, I almost forgot! I have a finish to share too. : ) Last night I completed the baby quilt for Barret George. I quilted “beach words” into the pale green row and “inspiration words” into the last row. I hadn’t free motion quilted in a l.o.n.g time and I was a bit nervous stitching words. I did stitch the word believe twice and had to do a bit of frogging, but overall the stitching went better than I had expected and I liked the end result very much. Today the quilt got laundered and gifted. Mama Maureen cried! Ya gotta LOVE that. ❤
Yay!!! Here’s to stitching and sewing. : ) I hope you had some finishes this weekend too…!?
It’s been two years since I’ve done machine applique. I’m happy to report it’s kinda like riding a bike. : ) I am very grateful to be able to sew. It FEELS wonderful. : ) Now, I’m HOME! This IS our home. I have been getting up a little early to have sewing time in the studio with Miss Pickle Puss while the rest of the house quietly continues on in slumber. It’s bliss…
I have decided to sew. Sew? Really! Sew. – – – – – – – x o – – – – – – ❤ – – – – – – –
You know how you have those most favorite, out of print, no longer made, amazing fabrics?! Mine have been in storage. I’m going to SEW with them. Yep. I am already. That background for the Robot quilt is a Loni Rossi Typosphere print. Using it!!! SO sewing!!!
As an added bonus and cause for celebration, mandatory overtime has been placed on hold until further notice. Hip hip HOORAY!!! That means I get extra hours to sew. ; )
There is a certain favorite nephew who is soon going to be three years old. As I understand it, the birthday theme is robots. So, sew…
Scott has enlarged the five robot designs via the computer/projector. I plan to make one of each of the five robots and the control panel. Fusible and machine applique. Kid friendly. Doable. ; )
The pattern is by Kellie from Don’t Look Now. I bought several of her patterns in Houston. I LOVE her designs, sense of whimsy, fun and use of color!
I hope you got to watch some football and take a few stitches too. We had FUN!
for some football…?!?!?!
This may sound unbelievable and un-American, but I have never watched a Superbowl game. Supposedly, the bowl game will be streamed live…if so, we will have it up/on. And, I have sewing READY!!! ; )
