What a difference a year makes…

I don’t even know where to begin.  Our lives are in a state of flux and we expect this for perhaps the next 2 years.  So, we are finding peace in chaos, and figuring out new routines.

I have moved to the Beach, along with Jingle and Shelby.  Scott is in another state and our home is on the market.  Once it sells, we ALL will be reunited – at our home at the Beach!!!  What an amazing day that will be…?!?!?!

Meanwhile, Scott and I see one another on weekends.  I work every other weekend, but we make do.  ; )

We only have one car.  It’s with Scott.  I bike or walk to wherever it may be that I must go.

At the Beach, there is no TV.

I have been working 6 days a week.  My employer has instituted mandatory overtime.  No complaints.  I am glad to have the work and be busy!  And, if not for my job we would not be transitioning to the Beach this early.

It was Bill the Roofer who was the catalyst for much of this change.  He had done some work at our home in the past and we had him come out for another small job.  He posed the question, “Don’t you have a house at the Beach?  Then what (insert expletive here) are you doing here?”  Well, it got Scott and I to thinking.  Within two weeks from that question we undertook some major changes and readied our home for sale.

I am still here.  I surf the web, but have little time to spare.  No comments.  No posts.  I have been watching, reading and keeping tabs as best I can.

Work + OT, doing 3 dog walks a day, and unpacking boxes/organizing our home at the Beach along with the daily business of life seems to leave little time for much else.

I have hemmed 10 curtains.  Lined the six crab curtains I had made for our living room, and I did make a little dress with the help of Barb when she visited in early July.  Recently, I have been working to finish a baby quilt for my supervisor.  I also have been able to get my first Roseville Album panel done.  Finally!  It has only taken me over a year.

Thank you all for your patience and support.  I am glad you dropped by.  ; )  Enjoy every day!  Take a few stitches when you get the chance.  ; )  Thinking of each of you always, I just may not say it!

Time to walk the dog…  ; )

Piecefully, Pam

  1. Well if you are going to be anywhere I would pick the beach! Best of luck to you in all your transitions. You have a lot more done on the Roseville than I do, congratulations!

  2. Hello!!! Great to hear from you – and a picture too – what a cute dress. Lots of flux going on….but it’s headed in the right direction – which is to say toward the ocean. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you – have you buried St. Joseph in the front yard? It’ll help to sell your house – I swear! Tell Scott to stop around and I’ll explain…..meanwhile….enjoy the beach and your quiet moments when you can. Hope to see you soon……piece.

  3. Wow Pam, I wish you all the best in all your movements, and especially in finding new routines!! Your baby quilts is exquisite, and you have done more on your Roseville than me too!! Thinking of you in your busyness. xo

  4. I’m so glad to hear about you–I’ve been worried (the mother in me!) But I can see how you’ve been busy–moving & no car, but how great to live at the beach now! Your crab curtains look great (perfect), as does your Roseville panel, and lovely summery dress . I would never have started the Roseville without your starting the Glorious Applique blog, so I’m hoping you are able to get organized in your new home and find some time for personal stitching soon!

  5. Great to hear from you, Pam. I hope the time passes quickly for you and Scott to be living by the beach together.
Wonderful to be able to put a face to your name. Your dress is really cute and summery.
Congratulations on your Roseville panel. I love your fabric choices. The wing on the bird bottom right is great!!!
After watching for a looong time I have finally finished my first Roseville block. Thank you for the inspiration!!!!!!!!

  6. It’s lovely to hear about your goings on. I hope your home sells really soon.
The Roseville albumn looks amazing and you did well on the baby quilt too.
The dress looks very cute Pam as do those crab curtains that make me smile.

  7. All the hardships now will certainly be paying off in the end and 2 years will go by quickly. The end is in sight :0)

    Your projects are wonderful!!
