freezer paper templates. Do you do this too? When I need multiples of a symmetrical applique shape, I draw it once, fan fold my freezer paper, staple to secure, and cut, once. The yield? Multiple shapes cut at the same time, which SAVES time!!! I love that! ; )
I have my templates drawn and my freezer paper fan folded.
Fan fold the freezer paper, and staple.
Cut out the freezer paper templates
Remove the staple, and ta-dah!!!
I use a digital photo to help me with fabric placement and color choices. It’s SO quick and simple to do…and re-do!
Amy Butler’s LOVE line, specifically, her Paradise Garden print has been my ‘jumping off point’. I am using these Paradise Garden prints in two colorways to guide my fabric selections and color choices for this project. Hmmm. What do you think…?! How do you choose fabrics for a project?
I will not add the ‘tongues’ until the little bit of floral applique is done, but this is how LOVE is looking this morning. Remember, I am making this small. I did NOT enlarge the pattern in the Quilted Romance book. My Hearts and Flowers quilt will be a wall hanging.
Hearts and Flowers with a little Amy Butler LOVE! : )
Uh, see that coral finger tip heart…? Yep, it’s an old Gap shirt that has been sacrificed for the cause. I like it better here!!!
satisfying about speed. That happy feeling when a project is moving right along. In just a few short hours of BLISSFUL sewing…
up. It does not become me. The faster I go the behinder I get. I’m not too late for TGIF, am I?! No? Look what the post delivered today…a chartreuse bag of goodness!!!
P.S. Enjoy your Friday AND your weekend too!
Friday was the end of an era for me. And Monday? The beginning of a new chapter. Two days into it I’m feeling less intrepid and more encouraged. That’s good, right?!
So, it’s been a new home, a new job and a new shift all in the span of three weeks. None of which was exactly planned or expected… Surprisingly, we’re holding up rather well. Scott has been SO supportive, my friends too, and that has been a REAL help. Thanks, peeps!!! ; )
Today I did some sewing. Oh, it felt SEW good!!! This morning I finished my Bunny Hill Snowbound BOM #9. Yay!!! Today at lunch, I sat outside in the glorious weather we’re having, and took some stitches on my Roseville Album squirrel panel. Pure delight!!!
Please, bear with me as I navigate these new roads and find my way. My stitching has been less frequent, as have my posts. I hope to find balance before too long…
Our new "house" on the 27th of August...?!
Our new "home" on the 6th of September!!! : )
9/5 HOME!!! : )
There is still PLENTY to do! Don’t get me wrong. But, at least we made a dent this LABOR Day weekend!!!
P.S. As you have probably guessed, there has been NO sewing. I do have AWESOME fabric on order to make curtains though. Just wait ’til you see it…!?!?!? ; )
