Alright, the work situation is as resolved as it’s going to be – for the next three months!? Thanks for asking. Thanks for your prayers. And, thanks for helping me to practice grace. This entire situation has been quite a CHALLENGE for me!!!
Jean has asked if I’ve started any Hallowe’en decorating…?! I have. ; ) And, there’s a pumpkin waiting to be carved too!!! I have a photo I’d like to use for my blog banner, but I’m hesitant to change it ’cause getting the one I have had up was not a simple thing for me to do. To un-do and then re-do it feels daunting… Let’s see what happens… Meanwhile, here’s some of what’s been going on around here at Mt. UN-Pleasant… ; )
P.S. I did it! I did it!! : ) The banner is a photo of our “coffee table.”
a “Widget Wizard”…!?!?!? : ) Well, maybe NOT. But, I have FINALLY learned how to add widgets to my blog!!! I think I had a nerd-gasm…
I have been trying to add widgets for MONTHS. I was SO vexed over these curious little buttons. Now, if only I could find the text for the Bunny Hill A Tisket A Tasket BOM widget I’d add that too. Alas, I can not seem to locate that html code anywhere…?! Does anyone have it? Can you share it with me? P-L-E- A-S-E?! I know there’s only a few more months left, but I’d LOVE to add it to my blog!!!
Now for a dose of reality. I’m about to have a head on collision with my boss this morning. I’m nauseaus and nervous. Can you say a little prayer for me? I’m thinking “Grace!” “Grace!” “Grace, for God’s sake!” 0800 can’t come SOON enough…
P.S. Pop over to the Park City Girl blog! : )
I’ll blog a bit about our Fest weekend. It was SUPER!!! : ) We had nice weather!!! Well, it rained overnight Saturday and we had a few drops on Sunday, but other than that it couldn’t have been nicer.
I’m ashamed to say that I forgot to take my camera to the SunFest and Boardwalk. Ohhh!!! There was SO much color, FUN, whimsy and beauty!!!
The sky at the Kite Loft was FILLED with all things flying!!! It was pure eye candy!!! There was enough wind to get the BIG kites up, but not so much wind that you were airborne too. ; ) Lovely, amazing, inspiring and just plain old F-U-N!!! We sat on the benches at intervals to just watch. Some kites I missed the first time or two past. A LOT to SEE, take in and appreciate!!!
Here is one photo I did get…
was just as gorgeous in September as it was in July…
Hope you had a spectacular weekend too! ; )
The past day or two has been unseasonably warm and sticky. I am looking forward to lower temps and less humidity. That’s been forecasted for tomorrow and I am thankful.
I am also thankful that tomorrow is Friday! And, since we work night shift, our weekend begins at 0800! ; ) We are planning to spend the weekend at the Beach. It’s the annual SunFest and KiteFest. We don’t always have the opportunity to go, so we are really looking forward to it this weekend! And, as an added bonus, Jingle is going along with us! ; ) We have SO may things lined up we’re not sure what we can fit in?! Here’s some of the things we’ve been talking about…crab soup at Harrison’s Harbor Watch. Fries at Thrasher’s served piping HOT and given a HEALTHY dose of malt vinegar and salt they don’t get any better!!! There’s the too-thick-to-suck-through-a-straw milkshakes from Dumser’s!!! Their black raspberry or peanut butter fudge are good enough to kill for…honest! All-You-Can-Eat Maryland blues at Waterman’s…oh my?! We will be sure to stop at Trimper’s too! Gee whiz, that’s a lot isn’t it?! Well, I am hoping for sandy feet, walking along the surf, finding some great sea shells, flying kites, furry fun and a full belly all wrapped up with sunshine, love and laughter!!! ; )
P.S. Check out this week’s (Forward momentum) Flower Pots hand applique class…the women are AMAZING!!!
Revisiting the fact that I live with a DC comics, video game era husband. This week’s FLASHback is brought to you by QUEEN, thanks to iTunes… This is SO 1980 cheesy, but my husband assures me it’s a “classic” and was “state of the art” at the time. YOU be the judge! Click here…if you dare?! ; ) We’ve been singing this around the house, in the car, perhaps even at work…
Good Monday Morning!
What a fabulously gorgeous weekend!!! : ) Wasn’t the weather picture perfect?! Today is the last “official” day of Summer. Be sure to enjoy it!
Summer makes me think of vacations. And, while I’ve been back to work for several weeks now, recently my quilt went on a cruise! Here is a picture of my winning block…Yes, we cruised to Alaska. It was amazing, beautiful and FUN!!! My finished quilt went to tour with Quilt Seminars at Sea on the Holland America cruise line. Here is a snapshot of the finished quilt.
It’s a nice memory to have. I hope the quilt has a good vacation. Do you think I’ll get a postcard…?!
Enjoy today and make some memorable stitches too!
It’s to be a gorgeous weekend!!! I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to it!!! : ) There is a “local” national Quilt Show this weekend in Oaks, PA. I am thinking I’d like to get to it. We’ll see how things work out…?! Another attraction in the area of the Quilt Show are these upscale outlets I’ve heard SO much about. Hmmm… Has anyone been to either of these…the Quilt Show or the Outlets? Do you have an opinion or any recommendations you could share?
Have you taken a peek at my latest tutorial? I have been working on these the past few evenings. I LOVE their wonderful, FUN, bright colors. This entire quilt project has been making me SMILE!!! : ) I gotta LOVE that!!!
I wanted to shout out a BIG t-h-a-n-k YOU to those who have been visiting and even leaving a comment here. I TRULY appreciate you. : ) It’s a surprise and a delight to have you stop by!!!
Have a wonderful weekend! Take a few stitches. : ) Get outside and enjoy the glorious weather!!!
I put all nine of my Bunny Hills blocks up tonight and snapped a pix. Just three more to go. I wonder what the baskets will be filled with…?! There are finishing instructions for the sashing, etc, but I haven’t looked at them yet. Have you? I feel like I want to wait until all my blocks are done before I look at the finishing details. Besides, I’m having TOO much fun each month making the newest block! : ) I don’t want to think about the end.
It’s chilly tonight. A definite change in the weather! Quite noticeable while walking Jingle. I planned ahead and had a pot of chili ready for dinner this evening! : D It was excellent to walk in the door after our walk and smell the yummy goodness. A perfect pot of chili on a chilly night! ; )
Tuck in. Make a nice cup of tea. And, take a few relaxing stitches! Enjoy your evening and thanks for stopping by.
P.S. Have you seen THIS?!?!?! It could possibly be the death of me…Pure marketing GENIUS!!! Thanks to Anita at the Bloomin’ Workshop for sharing the info and link!!!
This is what I was working on the past couple evenings. I finished it tonight! ; ) This online BOM has been awesome fun!!! I have never done anything like this before, and it’s been a real treat. I can’t thank Anne Sutton enough for her wonderful designs and willingness to share!
